Available for Review / Evaluation: IMS Center’s Watchdog Agent Prognostics Toolkit for PHM Algorithms and Graphic Displays in NI LabVIEW Application Since its inception in 2001 by Prof. Jay Lee, the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS) at the University of Cincinnati has been focused on frontier research in embedded and remote monitoring, prognostics technologies, and intelligent decision support tools and has coined the trademarked Watchdog Agent® prognostics tools. The Watchdog Agent Toolkit is available for different platforms, one of which is the NI LabVIEW platform. On Oct. 3rd 2011, National Instruments (NI) introduced the Watchdog Agent™ Toolkit for NI LabVIEW system design software, which provides an efficient, commercial solution for machine prognostics and health management (PHM) applications. The product of collaboration between NI and the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems (www.imscenter.net) at the University of Cincinnati, the toolkit is ideal for engineers seeking a commercial methodology of data acquisition and signal processing for monitoring and reporting the health status of components, machines, structures, and systems. The toolkit is a systematic reconfigurable platform that accelerates the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) process through simplification of PHM design, modeling, and evaluation. The LabVIEW-based toolkit consists of more than 10 commonly-used PHM algorithms for health assessment, diagnosis, and prediction. Specifically, the integrated toolkit utilizes LabVIEW TDMS file formats and includes most frequently-used algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Statistical Pattern Recognition, Self-Organizing Maps, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines and others. To facilitate the use of the toolkit, some integrated (express VI) functions and graphical user interface were also developed to accelerate the process of signal processing, feature extraction, health diagnosis and prognosis with minimum analyst manipulation and less external knowledge input. Using a patented analysis technique and industry-standard algorithms, the NI Watchdog Agent Toolkit adds ready-to-use PHM algorithms and graphic displays to your NI LabVIEW application. The toolkit is free for download and evaluation to the public for a 2-year period, starting in October 2011. The toolkit free evaluation download requires registration. After the 2 year defined evaluation period, the user would need to pay for the toolkit to continue using it according to the licensing agreement between NI and University of Cincinnati (IMS Center).
